The Apex Globe Wheels use a true spherical profile without a flat contact patch, creating a unique riding feel that changes based on finger pressure and bushing tension. The wheel's contact point shifts as the board leans, allowing the spherical shape to respond naturally throughout turns and tricks. Over time, a visible wear ring will develop around the most frequently used portion of the wheel, which is normal for this shape.
Each wheel features shielded and greased ABEC-9 bearings that provide a smooth, silent roll. While they don't free spin like Apex Ultraspin bearings, they remain highly responsive and roll freely during actual riding. The built-in Bearing Pocket securely locks the bearing into the wheel and prevents it from backing out, allowing you to fully tighten the axle locknut without causing the wheel to bind. A bearing press is required to remove the bearing from the pocket.
Apex urethane wheels are made in New York from custom compounds blended and poured in-house.
